Role Purpose
The Application Services Group (ASG) is the unit within Cable&Wireless Worldwide responsible for providing innovative application solutions which enhance and differentiate our traditional product sets. This can either be through integrating off the shelf solutions, in-house development or working with partners.
This team is seen as a key growth area for Cable&Wireless Worldwide in delivering communications applications.

The Test Team Manager role covers:
•Team management duties and hands on testing (Application Testing)
•To ensure that all the necessary test processes and procedures are maintained and followed
•Manage, coordinate, and undertake test activities within the team
•Manage the Test environments.
•Responsible for delivering all test duties on time and within budget whilst meeting quality objectives
•Provide both managerial and technical support to the Test Team members.

Key Accountabilities (Job Description)
•Active involvement in testing as well as management of the test team
•Develop and adhere to the Test Strategy
•Accountable for delivering against the agreed testing project plans
•Take an active involvement in the planning, analysis, technical / functional requirements for all ASG deliverables – includes CCNs, Project Plans and Work Orders
•Provide guidance / advice to ASG team on all test matters
•Manage project plans and schedule overall testing activities
•Build and implement the Test Plans for each required phase
•Manage the relationship with other workstream / team leaders in the ASG
•Communicate the test project status to the team members, to the customer, and to management
•Represent the testing elements of the ASG to the customer and manage customer relationship for testing
•Regular progress reporting and identification of risks and issues
•Identify and resolve any test project issues
•Assign roles and responsibilities to test team members
•Organise and manage test resources. Manage the prioritisation of team workload to ensure timescales are maintained.

•A strong technical background with recent hands-on experience of a major technology
•Experience of interface testing, i.e. server interfaces, external interfaces and error handling
•Experience of Internet technologies and strong Web-testing skills
•Able to derive information based upon a technical understanding of a Windows Infrastructure environment

Essentials
•Strong Test Management experience within a commercial environment

•Familiarity and experience of the IEEE829 standard for Test Plans
•Possess extensive experience of working within a Test environment and have been actively involved in performing and documenting the testing process
•Proven experience within a formal Testing team using structured testing techniques, deriving Test Conditions and Scripts from Requirements
•Knowledge and experience of hardware and software development lifecycles
•Ability to make accurate estimates and experience of working within a project environment, recording schedules and tracking progress
•Risk Analysis and the techniques of Risk Based Testing

•ISEB certified at Foundation level
