Key Accountabilities (Job Description)
• Test Analyst (Application Testing) with capability to undertake manual testing tasks
• Test analysis and preparation of test scripts
• Manual Test Execution
• Logging and monitoring of defects raised in adherence to the Issue Management Process and reporting to line management
• Responsible for delivering all test duties on time whilst meeting quality objectives
• Provide realistic input into the estimation and scheduling of both manual and automated testing activities
Technical Competencies (Skills and Experience) (Person Specification)
Essentials
• Experience of Internet technologies and strong Web-testing skills
• Support test management in test planning, documentation and execution activities as required in line with a defined repeatable test methodology
• Manage own work effort and quality through all test activities with little supervision
• Possess extensive experience of working within a V-Model as well as Agile Test Methodology environment
• Understanding of commercial impact to the business resulting from functional issues or undeliverable releases
• Knowledge and experience of hardware and software development lifecycles
• Strong, demonstrable Test analysis skills (ISEB Foundation accreditation minimum)
• Familiarity and experience of the IEEE829 standard for Test Plans
• Proven experience within a formal Testing team using structured testing techniques, deriving Test Coverage / Conditions and Scripts from Requirements and Functional Specifications
• Using HP Quality Center to manage the end to end Test Life Cycle process
• Adherence to Defect Management processes using HP Quality Center
• Functional testing experience
• Requirements Management / Traceability
• Testing and integrating packaged applications
• Ability to make accurate estimates and experience of working within a project environment, recording schedules and tracking progress
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to Testing within a high-pressure environment
• Analysis of Non-Functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate Tests
• Reporting on the progress of Test preparation and execution
Desirables
• Experience of Microsoft Sharepoint
• Non-Functional Testing experience
• Risk Analysis and the techniques of Risk Based Testing
• To have been responsible for test activities to support a major integration and test phase of a complex project
• Test tool implementation and configuration
• QTP (Quick Test Pro) knowledge – writing scripts and execution
